A homepage that does not explain: it shows
Ivrea Observatory starts from a very simple choice: the main page is not a traditional landing page, but a live dashboard.
Visitors should immediately understand what is happening in Ivrea: temperature, sky, rain, wind, light, Moon, sunrise, sunset and observing conditions. The project does not start from a promise, but from real data.
This decision changes the tone of the site. There is no need to convince visitors with many words: the important thing is to show clearly what is being measured.
21 June as First Light
The domain went online on 21 June 2026, the day of the summer solstice. It is a perfect coincidence for a digital observatory: the brightest day of the year becomes the project’s first public day.
This is why the footer includes the note “First light: 21 June 2026 · Summer solstice”. It is not a brochure line, but a small narrative signature: the moment when the project began observing online.
What is in the first version
The first public version includes the live dashboard, sensor status, observing conditions, solar and lunar sections, lightning detection and an editorial base with About and Journal.
It is not the finish line. It is the first stable state that is clear enough to be shown, used and improved.
