Ivrea Observatory, on your phone.

There are now two real ways to use it like an app: the Android build distributed through a private Google Play beta, and the installable PWA available on Android and iPhone.

Android app

The Android app is in private testing on Google Play. Selected Pioneers receive an authorised link and help test installation, navigation, login and everyday use.

How the beta works

PWA on Android

  1. Open the site with Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right.
  3. Tap Install app.
  4. Open Ivrea Observatory from its icon.

PWA on iPhone

  1. Open the site with Safari.
  2. Tap Share.
  3. Tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Open it from the new icon.

No fake offline observatory

Weather, SkyCam, accounts and APIs need the network. When the connection is missing, the app shows a clear bilingual offline page instead of presenting stale data as live.
