Ivrea Observatory nasce da un’idea semplice: la tecnologia ha senso quando avvicina le persone a qualcosa di bello. Non vuole essere l’ennesima dashboard piena di dati, ma un invito quotidiano ad alzare gli occhi e scoprire cosa succede nel cielo sopra Ivrea.
Ogni sera sopra di noi succede qualcosa: la Luna cambia forma, un pianeta compare all’orizzonte, una costellazione torna visibile, la Stazione Spaziale attraversa il cielo. Ivrea Observatory prova a raccontarlo in modo semplice.
Non serve possedere un telescopio per osservare. A volte basta uscire, fermarsi un minuto e sapere dove guardare. Per questo il progetto dà valore anche all’osservazione a occhio nudo.
SkyCam images, sensors, weather data, Moon phase, light, wind and observing conditions serve one purpose: helping anyone decide whether it is worth looking up tonight.
Ivrea Observatory non nasce per mostrare numeri. Nasce per trasformare quei numeri in una risposta umana: “stasera c’è qualcosa da vedere?”.
Someone walking through Ivrea, with no equipment at all, should be able to open the site and get a clear answer: the Moon, bright planets, ISS passes, recognisable constellations, simple events worth seeing.
The project grows by iteration: the live dashboard, the SkyCam, replays, sensors, recommended observations and the daily story of the sky. Every new feature must answer one question: does it bring the sky closer to people?
Ivrea Observatory is an independent, personal and continuously evolving project conceived, developed and maintained by Riccardo Marino. The data is local and unofficial: it does not replace institutional weather sources, official alerts or professional instruments.
